Healthcare Services

Compassionate and comprehensive healthcare services set our practice apart from many other veterinary providers.  These include:

  • Time with the Veterinarian.  We believe that clients deserve to receive more than thirty seconds with the vet.  You will find that our appointments are scheduled so as not to overlap, and our veterinarians take the time to fully discuss your pet's healthcare needs, diagnosis and treatment plan options with you.  Clients are encouraged to ask questions and be an active part of the decision-making process provided to their animal companions.  We care about your pets, and treating them and YOU like family is more than a slogan---it's our entire practice philosophy.

  • Pain Management.  We believe, as in human medicine, that pain control is a critical part of animal treatment.  Too often, veterinarians and owners overlook pain in patients because our animals are stoic creatures, bearing pain with little outward indication.  Research has shown time and again that our animal friends suffer pain in the same manner we do---and pain is always easier to prevent earlier rather than treat later in the cycle.  Our doctors use the latest analgesics and therapies (including acupuncture) to aggressively prevent and manage pain.  While this adds slightly to your costs, we would not allow our own pets to be in pain when preventable---and we won't let yours, either.  Pain management is always part of surgery and therapeutic plans, and we will never just send your pets out the door without appropriate medication to alleviate their discomfort.

  • Staffing.  Maintaining enough "hands on deck"
is also a critical difference between our facility and many others.  In some clinics, you may find that the Receptionist is also the Vet Tech and Kennel Help, oft times the only other person in the clinic other than the veterinarian!  At All Creatures Animal Hospital, you will find we have numerous Client Care Specialists to assist you in the Reception Room and on the telephone, multiple Veterinary Nurses in the Examination and Treatment Rooms to provide care, cleanliness and safe animal handling, and a Patient Advocate to track the progress of your animal, contact you with healthcare status updates and help with any questions you may have before, during and after your visit.  Having the right number of people to do the job right ensures that appointments are kept on time, billing errors are eliminated, and prescriptions are ready promptly.  Our friendly staff sees to all of your pet's needs, while ensuring that your experience with our Hospital is as pleasant and convenient as possible!

  • Services.  Our facility provides routine wellness examinations and preventive care for all stages of your pet's life, including newborns, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Critical health maintenance services may be scheduled including dental care, parasite prevention and treatment, vaccines, spay and neuter and routine labwork.  We have extensive diagnostic and treatment facilities providing the highest quality care for your animals, using cutting-edge technology and surgical technique, usually at lower cost than big-box corporate practices or high-priced referral centers.

  • Prices.  While we are not a "budget" practice, we provide some of the best, most comprehensive and personalized veterinary care available in the Inland Empire.  Quotes provided are the out-the-door price you pay for surgical services, (including hospital bed, surgeon, preanesthesia blood testing, anesthesia, intravenous catheters and fluids, vital sign monitoring, post-surgical antibiotics and pain medications).   We will never quote you a lower fee just to bring you in the door, and then surprise you with expensive add-ons after you arrive or at check-out.

  • Quality.  At All Creatures Animal Hospital, our level of service and medicine meets or exceeds the standards you would rightfully expect in a human hospital.  Internal medicine therapies are utilized before invasive surgery whenever possible, and our exacting standards of surgical protocols would be comparable to surgeons in human hospitals.  Should your pet require the services of a specialist, we regularly refer to tertiary centers of excellence.  If you are seeking the best healthcare possible for your animal companions, you will find it at All Creatures Animal Hospital.  Here is a brief tour of our facility:

EXAMINATION ROOMS

Our four examination rooms are designed to ensure that patients are given a detailed review while remaining in the owner's presence.  The canine exam rooms are also equipped with a Pet Info Center computer kiosk with touchscreen operation.  These kiosks permit the pet owner to review articles on animal care, as well as to view films discussing many areas of pet health.  Your veterinarian may also use the computerized diagrams to better illustrate the various disease and anatomical states occurring within your pet.  The Feline Exam Room has an entrance away from the dogs to keep your kitty (or other small fuzzy friend) happy and relaxed.

LABORATORY

We operate a complete in-clinic laboratory for routine and emergency testing.  A rapid and accurate diagnosis is critical to providing effective treatment to ease pain and successfully return your pet to health.  In-clinic testing also provides clients with peace of mind by knowing what is troubling their animal before leaving the clinic, rather than waiting to hear results later from an external lab.  At the same time, we have the full resources of several reference laboratories available when specialized diagnostic tests or consultations are needed.

PHARMACY

A fully-stocked and diverse pharmacy ensures that your pets have the drugs they need when they need them.  The Pharmacy not only dispenses drugs for in-clinic treatment of inpatients and outpatients, but also maintains all the items you need to fill and refill your pet's prescriptions.

RADIOLOGY SUITE

Digital radiography provides rapid imaging, allowing quicker diagnosis and earlier treatment, generally without the need to anesthetize the patient to obtain the x-ray.  Digital images can also be transmitted instantaneously to a specialist via email if tertiary care is required.  Ultrasound imaging gives non-invasive internal visualization of problems, reducing the need for exploratory surgery.

SURGICAL SUITE

Our surgical suite and protocols are equivalent to those of human hospitals. Sterile cap, gloves, gown, mask, surgical drape and a fresh and sterile surgical pack are utilized for each individual procedure, just as you would expect for your human family but not necessarily provided at every veterinary facility.  Induction drugs and gas anesthesia allow for rapidly adjustable levels of anesthesia during surgery, more stable vital signs and a smoother and more rapid recovery afterwards. Placing an endotracheal breathing tube into the animal's airway permits us to completely control breathing as needed.  Full monitoring of all patient vital signs is accomplished through electronic sensors, and a Veterinary Nurse continuously communicates this information to the surgeon, including heart rate and rhythm, blood pressure, temperature, respiration and blood oxygen content.  High-energy sonic cutting equipment is used in place of scapels in many surgeries, permitting more precision with less bleeding and faster healing.   Warmer units and a heated surgical table prevent excessive heat loss from your pet during the procedure, providing a more comfortable recovery and decreased chance of post-procedure infection.  All of these features result in better control of the patient's functioning during the surgery and faster recovery and better outcomes for the patient. When surgery is required, endoscopic options permit minimally invasive techniques in areas such as the constricted palates of short-nosed breeds.
